The 38th Annual International Conference of the Indian Value Engineering Society (INVEST) was held on January 6-7, 2023 in Mumbai, India. This was a long-awaited in-person conference, especially after two years of virtual events during the pandemic.
The conference had the participation of over 180 delegates from diverse industry segments, mainly automobile, electrical, IT, renewable energy, manufacturing, heavy industry, defence, etc. and the social sector as well.
A total of 80 papers were presented highlighting the application of Value Engineering (VE) across a wide range of projects, reflecting not only the effective solutions, but also changes in the way VE is transforming business strategies and operations in response to emerging challenges and opportunities. Prestigious awards were also given for organizations and teams demonstrating effective and innovative application of VE.
The knowledge-rich plenary sessions by leadership and experts from industry and government were enthralling. The conference also served as a vibrant forum for cross learning and exchange of ideas.
The conference closed while reflecting the resolve of INVEST to take VE to the next level through digitalisation, thrust on training and creating wider and deeper expertise and strengthening efforts for working with government to collaborate for VE applications for turnkey and social sector projects.
