President’s Message – May/June 2024

By Robert Stewart, CVS-Life, FSAVE, PMP, PMI-RMP – President, SAVE International

We are fast approaching the SAVE International 2024 Value Summit in Nashville, TN. I am happy to report that attendance is looking strong based on current registrations. This event will be held June 3-4; however, there will be many events occurring during the weekend, June 1-2.

Saturday, June 1t will include a special seminar titled “Miles Value Foundation Session – Advanced Function Models: Orientation Training for the MVF Function Models Guide Book” where authors will be presenting their chapter of the Function Models Guide. The session registration fee is $190 USD and each registrant will receive a copy of the new Function Models Guide and 3 PDUs. Following the session, the MVF will be hosting a reception with hors d’oeuvres and refreshments ahead of the MVF Annual Business Meeting.

Sunday, June 2d will include many meetings, including the SAVE Board of Directors Meeting, Chapter Presidents Meeting, Certification Board Meeting, MVF Board Meeting, and the SAVE Annual Business Meeting. Following these meeting will be the First Time Attendee and Welcome Receptions. The receptions are always an excellent time to network with colleagues and meet new attendees.

I am pleased to announce that we have about 30 presenters covering a wide range of interests to those in the Value Methodology (VM) Community during the Value Summit starting Monday, June 3d. There will be a SAVE College of Fellows breakfast in the morning prior to the sessions, and three forums covering Certification, the Miles Value Foundation, and one focusing on our international members.

Our keynote speaker will be Delbert Smith representing the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (USBR). USBR has been working on enhancing its existing VM Program and will be sharing some of his thoughts about the role of VM in his organization.

I encourage everyone to review the Value Summit schedule prior to attending to get a sense of what sessions might interest you.  I look forward to seeing you in Nashville!
