MVF Welcomes New Trustees

By Bruce Lenzer, CVS-Life, FSAVE, CQM/OE, CLA – President, Lawrence D. Miles Value Foundation

The Lawrence D. Miles Value Foundation (MVF) is happy to announce two new Trustees to the Board of Trustees. These new Trustees are:

  • Jim Rains, CVS-Life, FSAVE (Trustee as of SAVE International 2017 Value Summit)
  • Dorine Cleton, LLM

Mr. Rains retired as Director last year from the MVF and has agreed to serve a 3-year term as Trustee.

Ms. Cleton is an International Foundation member who was mentored by Hal Tufty. Hal was one of the charter members of the MVF. Ms. Cleton practices law in the Netherlands and uses the Value Methodology in her arbitration work. She has attended numerous SAVE Value Summits and events, and recently attended the SHVA SAVE Europe Conference in Budapest, Hungary.

Two new Trustees have been nominated for this year. These are as follows:

  • Dr. Manabu Sawaguchi, CVS-Life
  • Don Parker, CVS-Life, FSAVE

Dr. Sawaguchi is expected to be the SJVE MVF representative to replace Dr. Ichiro Ueno. Dr. Ueno served as a Foundation Trustee from 1986-2015. He was one of the longest serving Trustees to date.

After 38 years of service, Mr. Parker is retiring from the MVF this year at the SAVE Value Summit. However, in light of his extensive experience serving SAVE and the MVF, Mr. Parker has agreed to continue serving as a Trustee to supply ongoing advice to the Board. Like Hal Tufty, Mr. Parker was also a charter member who helped organize and launch the MVF.

In addition to Rains and Cleton, mentioned above, the MVF appreciates the following individuals serving as Trustees:

  • Robert A. Burton, JD
  • The Honorable Leslie L. Byrne
  • Dr. Don Gerhardt, PhD, PE
  • James J. O’Brien, PE, CVS

The MVF Board of Trustees is limited to 15 members including Honorary Chairman. With Rains and Cleton now part of the Board of Trustees, we have 6 Trustees.
