What is SAVE?
First, SAVE International is a voluntary organization comprised of people with a passion! It is a great organization when our members do more than simply pay their dues. The Society depends on you. As a SAVE Board member for almost four years now, I have seen and treasured the hard work and dedication of many individuals. However, we need more to truly excel.
The response to our email last month seeking volunteers to run for officer positions was exhilarating! You will see the names and bios of great candidates for these positions soon. Please be sure to vote for these generous colleagues.
Now we need more at the ground level, taking care of our chapters, talking to other professional societies and generally representing the interests of the Value Methodology (VM).
How many media outlets are looking for good content? Let’s provide them with information about SAVE and VM. We can help you with information for press packages and social media. Don’t be timid to use social media to enhance our Society and profession. Let’s talk it up!
I have found that when I have been interviewed or presented at other societies’ meetings, there is great interest. When reporters find out about VM, they do an impressive job of explaining and promoting our field. Owners and other societies are likewise impressed with the power of VM and what it can do in so many applications for products, projects and processes. We have even been invited back after giving the initial briefing on what VM can do and how it can be applied!
Remember, this is your profession and, in many cases, your livelihood. The way to keep it alive and prospering is to disseminate our message, our methodology and our vision. Holler if I can help!
