2022 Value Summit Update

By John Corcoran, PE, CVS – Director of Conferences, SAVE International

Hello SAVE International members!  I hope this article finds you well.  The months continue to pass quickly – it will be March by the time you read this article and then it will be June before you know it.

As mentioned last month, the plans for the 2022 Value Summit are quickly accelerating.  A lot of discussions and preparations have occurred over the last month and will continue right through the start of the Summit.

As stated in last month’s article, we are moving forward with the 2022 Value Summit to be held in-person this June 4-8 in Glendale, Arizona.  While registration is not yet open at the time of this writing, the Planning Committee continues to review paper and training submissions, engage with potential keynote speakers, build a schedule, etc. with the anticipation of opening registration by mid-March.

Based on the response from the recent Value Summit survey, people are excited to meet in-person and the Planning Committee is determined to produce a schedule to meet attendees’ expectations.  As an incentive to members that are planning to attend, the Planning Committee is keeping all registration fees the same as they were at the last in-person Value Summit held in 2019 in Portland, Oregon.

Also, to celebrate our first in-person Value Summit in three years, we are planning an anonymous grab bag gift exchange.  Participation in the grab bag gift exchange is voluntary; however, if you choose to participate, you will need to bring with you to the Summit a small gift that is representative of your home city, state, province or nation.  The gift should be wrapped or contained in a bag.  A time and place at the Summit will be determined for you to give your gift to another attendee and you will also receive a gift.

The gift exchange serves two purposes:

  1. to provide a creative way for you to meet someone and make a new contact, and
  2. to reflect the worldwide presence of value management.

Some suggestions for gifts are a t-shirt or jersey from a local sports team, a small souvenir from a famous attraction or monument near your home, etc.

The gift should meet the following parameters:

  • Representative of donor’s home city, state, province or nation
  • Suggested maximum value equivalent to $25 USD
  • No alcohol
  • No food that is perishable or sensitive to temperature
  • Small enough for travel
  • Compliant with FAA regulations for air transport

As you can see, the Planning Committee is committed to delivering a great and unique Value Summit.  We are always looking for additional ideas for a well-rounded program that will enhance your experience of the entire event.  Your patience as we approach the opening of registration has been appreciated.

We look forward to seeing you at the 2022 Value Summit this June!  Until then, please stay healthy and safe!
