On January 15, 2021, the fourth batch of a VM course for Master’s students titled Media and Communication Studies, at Christ University, in Bangalore, India, was concluded. This is a 30-hour course with two credits spread over a period of three months.
The students are exposed to the VM Job plan and different tools and techniques used in different phases, practicing them on a project of their choice. They are evaluated through the different assignments during the course and the final projects. The outcome of their studies are products like promotional videos, advertisements, event management, newspaper content, corporate communications materials, etc.
As final year students, they have already learned different aspects and methodologies related to media science and journalism. A value study with a focus on function thinking gives them a different perspective which generates unique and creative solutions to the customer requirements. The awareness of why they do what they do helps them to focus on the critical requirements of their work.
