SAVE EMA Chapter Conference ‘The Value of Agile’

By Jacqueline Fahmy, PhD, PMP, CSSBB, CVS – President, SAVE International Eastern Mediterranean & Africa Chapter

Continuing the campaign of “Save with SAVE“, which began three years ago, and as a part of its application in Egypt under the slogan of “Save for Egypt”, the SAVE International Eastern Mediterranean & Africa chapter has successfully organized its fifth conference “The Value of Agile”.

The purpose of the conference was to introduce SAVE and the Value Methodology (VM) to people still new or not familiar with to VM. The conference also introduced Agile management to value practitioners, highlighted how to merge VM with Agile, and addressed the common points between the two approaches. The conference was a nice opportunity to highlight that Value Engineering is not limited to engineering applications, as Agile is not limited to the IT industry through an amazing presentation that shows the application of Agile in EPC contracts.

The selection of the topic was a true challenge. We understand the value of people’s time and that we should deliver value to the audiences as per all our previous conferences. From the other side, the main objectives of these conferences are to help the members to collect PDUs necessary for certification application or maintenance.

The second challenge was the fear of Coronavirus in the area, but we still received a good number of attendees. Certainly, people are always attracted by the true value.
