Big Ideas in the Big Easy: Let VM Show You How!

Your 2020 Value Summit Planning Committee is very excited about a number of new and improved things for 2020. We have so much going on and so many opportunities to get your Professional Development Units (PDUs) as well as gain additional training, we’ve extended the Summit to 2.5 days. Start planning your travel NOW!

We are introducing “Interactive Continuing Education” Sessions. The purpose of this is to provide our membership with hands on skills, training and additional experience in the Core Competencies. These sessions are to be 1-2 hours and will be part of the main Summit tracks. Also, don’t forget our Transportation Track – if you have an exciting program to share, contact Mark Gabe from the Washington Department of Transportation at gabelm@wsdot.wa.gov.

Your 2020 Value Summit Planning Committee has issued the Call for Papers, Call for Interactive Continuing Education, and the Call for Pre and Post Summit Workshops. The deadline for submissions is December 14, 2019. I hope you have already been thinking about what you would like to present. As per last year, we are requiring all presenters and instructors to clearly demonstrate how their paper or course ties into one of the Core Competencies. See the updated Submission Guidelines for more details.

How can you not be excited about New Orleans, the home of Mardi Gras, Jazz and amazing food? The host hotel is right on famous Bourbon Street; however, there are amazing places throughout New Orleans. Just a couple of blocks away is Royal Street. It is located within the French Quarter and is known as a shopper’s paradise. This street is famous for its antique shops, fine art galleries and dining in hidden courtyards. You can stroll the street while listening to street buskers and see the historic sights.

SAVE International takes pride in recognizing the successful contributions of the value profession from industry, government and value analysis providers. Start thinking about a nomination for the 2020 Honors & Awards. If you are interested in volunteering on the Honors & Awards Committee, please contact the SAVE business office at info@value-eng.org.

Finally, it is never to early to apply to be a sponsor and/or exhibitor at the 2020 Value Summit. Without sponsors and exhibitors, we cannot provide a quality event at a reasonable cost to our members. More information about our 2020 sponsorships and exhibitor opportunities will be provided soon.

Your enthusiastic and dedicated 2020 Value Summit Planning Committee is all jazzed up! We look forward to seeing you Jun 6-9, 2020 in New Orleans, LA, USA.
